- Rural Grocery Stores! I'm currently geeking out all things rural grocery, rural grocery wholesalers, developing a new Farm to Rural Grocery to Wholesale (F2G2W) supply chain for locally grown food.
- Deep Winter Greenhouses - using solar thermal and building this unique winter production system throughout the state of Minnesota and beyond!
- Clean Energy and rural electric coops ~ looking to the future energy transition and what it means to people living in remote rural areas. We have rural electric coops for a reason! Now what?
- Sustainable Ag and Food System - In addition to the research and outreach that is my daily work, my family strives to practice what we preach on our farm in rural Big Stone County, MN.

My work has taken me to every continent, except Antarctica, sometimes for years on end. Yet this mid-continent, prairie adventure in rural revitalization and sustainable agriculture and energy is the biggest adventure of them all (so far!).
